BEWARE: NEW AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS LURKING

Posted on February 5th, 2010 by marshallfrank in Politics & Government

Watch out. As the Health Care issue fades, Immigration reform is lurking. And it does not spell good news.

Immigration Reform is more correctly known as — “amnesty for illegals.” The new proposed bill is looming as we speak. And if you think it’s all about compassion, think again. There’s a far more sinister motive, as articulated by Eliseo Medina, VP of Service Employees International Union (SEIU). A frequent visitor to the White House and advisor to the president, Mr. Medina had this to say at a Washington conference in June of 2009:

“We reform the immigration laws, it puts twelve million people on a path to citizenship and eventual voters.” According to Medina, Latinos and immigrants “voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates (liberals) in 2008. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three? Can you imagine eight million new voters who care about our issues and will be voting? We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.”

That says it all, folks. It’s all about power.

Enter: HR 4321, (House Bill) introduced by Rep. Luis Gutierrez in December of 2009, who hails from the same Chicago district, ironically, where the president served as state senator. In summary:

* The bill nullifies all state and local laws that enforce laws on illegal immigration.

* It overthrows laws like those in Arizona, Oklahoma, and Georgia that punish companies for hiring illegal aliens.

* It eliminates the 287(g) program in which local law enforcement helps identify and detect illegal aliens for federal agencies.

* Job verification would no longer be possible, because this bill would basically eliminate E-Verify! All our gains in verification over the last decade would be destroyed if this bill were to become law.

* All Illegal Aliens in U.S. will be given amnesty, clouded as “path to citizenship.”
* The only ones not given the amnesty would be those who’ve committed (been convicted) a “serious crime.”

Folks can dicker all they wish saying this is just another partisan issue…that’s one way of glossing over a very serious problem that will negatively affect us all, no matter what party you belong to. Fact is, legitimizing illegals sends a message to the world, that laws in the United States were meant to be broken, and breaking them has its rewards.

Bear in mind, also, the bill doesn’t just refer to illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central America. It covers illegals world wide, including Asia, Europe, Africa and the mid-east.

This is not the America envisioned by Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt and for that matter, Martin Luther King, Jr. Passage of this bill spells the eventual collapse into third world status.

Please don’t tell me about jobs that Americans won’t do. Americans will do those jobs, if they are paid properly. So what if the price of tomatoes goes up. It’s worth it if we are to preserve the integrity, and laws, of this nation.

Please don’t tell me about Bush and McCain…and the Republicans support for amnesty. They were just as removed from mainstream America as their counterparts.

Yes, most of us are products of immigrants. My grandparents on both sides, came from Norway and Lithuania through Ellis Island and obtained their status legally. Then, they assimilated and told their children, “Speak English. You are an American now.”

Alas. Is it the same America?

I could write pages over pages, but the truth remains: This is a VERY bad bill, and it’s being proposed for a bad reason.  Power. They have nine months left to accomplish that mission.

If you never wrote your congressional representatives before, now’s the time. The far left constituency in power today wants to get this passed before November of 2010, when they are certain to lose much of their power base.

We can all do our part. Let’s do it.

  1. I read somewhere that part of the reason is that if they are “legal” they have to pay taxes. Truth to that?

  2. This needs to go to republicans in Washington so that they know we are on to
their flakiness… especially McCain & Grahmesty.

  3. Sherlock,
Thanks for another great message. Keep up the great work.
Hope everyone follows up and registers their displeasure with this bill. It is very easy to do.
    Figaro

  4. Bush tried to do this too, except he was doing it for industries that rely on illegals.

  5. I hate to say this but one of my very good friends, formerly a United Flight Attendant, is Andy Stearns special assisstant. Andy of course is the President of the Service Employees Union. It is also one of the unions that pulled out of the AFL-CIO for political reasons. Andy it seems wanted to run his own show and it looks like he is doing just that. I also know Rep. Gutierrez. I will consider writig him a letter.

  6. M.F., Thanks for a timely warning. This
sure fits this report that Janet Nappyhead
says we have made such progress in border security that nearly a quarter $Billon in
cuts for Border Patrol & Border Fensing is
well waranted. What a crock. Read it @ >

  8. Marshall,

SS/DD!!! Until the progressives in DC are removed from office, this type of legislation will prevail. The Mass. Miracle “should” be the writing on the wall for these folks, but I believe that their arrogance knows no bounds. We must NOT give up, and eventually what is right will prevail. I would like to see Sheriff Joe run for Congress and have a truly national audience for his message.

  9. So, Marshall, what would you do with these 10-12 or 15 million illegals: how would you find them?

They are doing much work for us: as maids, waiters, kitchen help, fruit and vegetable pickers, street and landscape laborers, child care, aand so forth.

Yes, they do depress wage rates but ou citizens won’t do much of that work: i,e, picking fruit, probabkly strawberries here in FL and hundreds of house maids and childcare workers in Miami.

Despite the new wall, partially built, they still come across the border with Mexico.

  10. I say round them up and deport them immediately. How do you find them…not hard if you try. You got to quite being polite and start to ask direct questions. Every American carries several forms of proper ID on him all the time because if he/she did not have it he could not drive a vehicle, cash a check or use a credit card at Wal-Mart…on and on. Start to profile every person that does not look like a true born American, it will not take long to ID these people. If you happen to “offend” a true American, which should not happen, then apologize and pass them by, so much for being nice. It is time to get tough…maybe we need to start to use more Remington 1100’s than nice words and government forms to fill out. Might not be a bad idea to start to do the same with the majority of our elected officials when they cross the line.

  11. Before the last election I was warning of this . . . as once the Democratic Party gets them legalized they will have the votes to keep them in power forever. And all the rest of us long time citizens will never have a voice in our destiny!

As for Arthur Urrows, and his concern about what to do w/the illegals that are here . . . if we clamp down on our current laws on companies so they couldn’t hire them, they’d go back on their own.

If we QUIT giving them FREE medical (which is what is really driving our medical costs up for all of us!); food stamps; rent subsidy; welfare; FREE education; etc. they’d go back on their own too!

All we have to do is QUIT raising our taxes and bankrupting our nation to “give” to the illegals!

And they’ll go home on their own.

But, it is over folks if we legalize them. Look what’s happened in city’s they took over . . . the city council minutes in Miami are all in Spanish . . . why?

  12. There is certainly a need to deal with immigration in this country. I am just not sure that simply saying that enforcement is the best way to go at this point will get us anywhere.

We have over 14 million illegals in this country at this poind and only several hundred thousand police officers in all agencies, and they certainly have some other things to do besides immigration.

I am for amnesty with certain limited conditions. They must apply for legal status in this country. Without legal status, they cannot receive benefits of any kind from this government. Some states, Florida being one, have implemented new laws that require people to have three forms of ID before they can get a DL.

A national system of this sort could be implemented across the country and then everyone would be required to show their ID, which can be computer verified, before they can be employed or receive benefits. Heavy fines and even imprisonment for the employers who do not follow the guidelines would be necessary.

My peeve of all times is the provision that a woman who is illegal can give birth to a child in this country and receive benefits for herself and her child. That needs to stop, even if it is by Constitutional amendment. Using a law enforcement analogy, there is a legal concept called the Fruit of the Poisonous Tree which should be applied here. Someone who is illegal cannot give birth to a legal resident…period.

From a humanitarian standpoint, we assist them medically and then mother and child are transported back to their country at the first available opportunity. No WIC coupons, welfare or any other type of social assistance is permitted. The State of California is bankrupt and they will say that this is primarily due to payments to illegals. This is so basic, I don’t get why we seem to be powerless to not give money to people who are not entitled.

Lastly, I encourage everyone to adopt the “Americans First” thought process. It actually has nothing to do with immigration. The idea is that we tell our elected officials they are Americans First, politicians second, to work together to solve our problems and if not, we will oust them at the polls, regardless of party.

    Whattya think??
