1. There will be an attempt to assassinate President Trump. The incendiary atmosphere in America is at a peak, fueled by the ongoing intense hatred for Donald Trump as expressed, irresponsibly, by several major news networks, and print media that cannot accept the fact that Hillary lost. These news networks, as well as a cadre of far-left politicians continually spew calls for “impeachment” not for evidence of committing a crime, but for no other reason than being elected. Such rhetoric only needs to successfully inspire one lone wacko with a gun, as we have seen four times in American history.

  1. The U.S. will move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Other nations will follow suit as the UN gradually accedes to pressures from the U.S. to assume greater roles in supporting the UN financially, and to support Israel’s right to exist as a sovereign state. The move will spark anger and demonstrations from Palestinians, and violence may erupt, but it will not prevent the moving of the embassy

  1. Construction on the border fence will begin, with limitations as many sections will cede to more modern methods, i.e., electronics, aerial surveillance, concentrated patrol, etc., for securing the border and preventing illegals, and drugs, from entering the U.S.

  1. We will see significant changes in the illegal immigration conundrum as sanctuary cities slowly rescind their illegal behavior toward the federal government. Deportations of illegals who have committed crimes will increase. A strong effort to halt “chain migration” will be part of a conciliation deal in congress with the president and congress, to soften their stance against dreamers, i.e., foreign children who have known no other home but America. Over-extending visas will also become a major focus of federal authorities.

  1. The Special Counsel investigation of Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with Russians during the campaign will fizzle. Another indictment or two may come down on select republicans/allies of Trump that will have nothing to do with the election. Bob Mueller has his back against the wall, because of serious improprieties within his own team. And yes, I think Trump with pardon General Flynn for lying.

  1. I believe a military plan is, or will be, in the works that will end tensions from North Korea by the end of 2018, even if it means engaging the SEALS and other specialized units to take out Kim Jong Un.

  1. The ISIS caliphate will be completely eliminated from Syria/Iraq, though the splintered organization will still evoke terror, much like al Qaeda and other radical Islamic groups still engages in terror. The long range motive for ISIS terror in Afghanistan is to eventually establish a new caliphate in a country where the U.S. is long overdue for ending its presence.

  1. The U.S. economy will be at an all-time high as we progress through 2018. Unemployment will continue bottoming out, stock markets will thrive, many more jobs will open in the U.S., housing sales and mortgage loans will thrive and news businesses will take advantage of the decline in taxes. All of this, and the above, will disappoint far left media and the leftist side of the political arena, as republicans increase their majority margins in the House and Senate in mid-term elections.

  1. One or more Supreme Court Justices will leave the bench, giving Trump and conservatives enormous power over future U.S. legal decisions.

  1. As 2018 passes by, watch for increasing press exposure for possible Democrat presidential wannabes in 2020, particularly New Jersey Senator Cory Booker. Also the left-wing media will fawn over Michelle Obama, who does own a law degree. More importantly to democrats, Michelle’s election could make Barack Obama a de facto third-term president. Governor George Wallace used that tactic with his wife to circumvent term limits in Alabama in 1966.

  1. The Oscars for Best Actor and Actress will go, respectively, to Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour) and Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Mo.) The Yankees will win the World Series. Jordan Spieth will reign supreme on the golf tour. The tennis world will see new faces in the major tournaments. The NFL will establish stricter rules of behavior during games.

I hope your insightful predictions come true Marshall. That is all except the winner of the world series will be the Brooklyn Dodgers, now playing in Chavez Ravine!

Agree that the Brooklyn Bums now playing at Chavez Ravine will win the World Series. (Are the Yankees a real baseball team???)

I suspect you are right in predicting an assassination attempt on PresidentTrump; however, there may have already been one or two. It’s possible for the Secret Service to protect the president from such attempts without the general public ever hearing about it. There are very good reasons to keep such attempts relatively quiet!

Marshall, Keep up the good work, especially your Fiddling with The Dick Doc Duo.

I hope that Marshall’s predictions are true, except for:

    1. I hope that we never hear of an assignation attempt.

    2. The Boston Red Sox should win the World Series!

    3. I hope the NFL will get their act together and fire all who refuse to Stand-Up for Our Flag and Country. I will not watch NFL until that happens (Unless the Patriots are in the Super Bowl).

    1) Sadly, probably more right than wrong, it’s almost surprising it hasn’t yet. My prediction, when it does the corrupt media who will be 90% responsible, will absolve themselves of any blame and somehow blame the Tea Party or Rush Limbaugh etc.

    2) Not much of a prediction since Trump has already announced the move, but agree that it will actually happen and many more countries will follow. This is what “leadership” means. My prediction, the UN will become more and more useless and have less and less respect as the Trump presidency rolls on and their budget is reduced.

3 and 4) Agree the wall will be started. My prediction, hopefully, is that there will be a grand bargain where the Dems fund the wall and agree to an end to chain immigration in return for some form of “amnesty” for the “Dreamers”. I think this is a logical compromise which most Americans could get behind and be a win/win for the US.

    5) Definitely agree, this “investigation” was a fraud to begin with, everybody knows it, mostly the Dems behind it from the beginning. My prediction, this will backfire mightily on the Democratic Party as I believe we will soon learn the extent of the fraud behind the bogus “Trump Dossier” and it will reveal to even the stupidest liberal to what extent the far left will go to win elections and discredit their opponents.

    6) Completely agree, it is clear to even the Chinese that something must be done about the little lunatic in North Korea. Trump has the guts to put down the rabid dog. My prediction, some around the world may feign outrage, but secretly everyone will applaud Trump for finally taking out this dangerous, little, man.

    7) Agree completely, although the US main stream media fails to mention it because it would benefit Trump, he has done a great service to humanity and the Middle East by telling his top military people to destroy Isis with no idiotic “rules of engagement”. There have been very few US or civilian casualties and Isis has been decimated, losing 98% of their territory, mostly since Trump was elected. My prediction, Isis will barely exist by the end of the year and Trump will keep taking on the bad guys in the Mid East, notably Iran where he will effectively end the foolish and dangerous Iran deal negotiated by Obama.

    8) Agree, the economy will stay strong which will lead to victories in the midterm elections. It is almost comical to listen to the main stream media as they prattle on everyday about the great “Blue Wave” that is coming in November. As usual they are predicting what they hope will happen, not reality.

    9) Hopefully so, at least Trump should get to replace one more Supreme, I don’t think Ruth Bader Ginsburg will make it to 2020 and there could be another one or two who quit. At the least Trump should be able to have a highly beneficial effect on the future by appointing other lower court positions.

10, Yes,no question the lame stream press will be working overtime to promote whichever liberal nutjob they want to see elected, all the time belittling and criticizing Trump. The problem is, there are no strong candidates on the left, and Trump’s policies are going to be seen as more and more beneficial to most Americans. Prediction, the media will lose more and more credibility and popularity in 2018 and they are seen by more and more people for what they are: liberal hacks in cahoots with the Democrat Party.

    11) Don’t care! 🙂

Happy Holidays, Marshall, I predict and hope you have a great 2018 and keep the good commentary coming. All the best!!

I concur with your predictions even if some have already been announced or are in progress.

I certainly hope that your prediction of an assassination attempt doesn’t come to fruition but I’m sure some deranged individual, fueled by the hatred of the leftists, is likely to try.

Keep up the good work and have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Marshall, I’ll go along with most of your items, but #4 needs to be expanded beyond eliminating “chain migration” to also include the elimination of birthright citizenship, which is currently legalized by the 14th Amendment. At the time it was written there was no indication that the country would have such a large illegal population, so no considerations were written into the amendment. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has estimated that nearly 200,000 children are born annually “to foreign women admitted as visitors, that is, tourists, students, guest workers, and other non-immigrant categories. Eight percent of all U.S. births (approximately 350,000 a year) come from at least one illegal-alien parent, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. Bills have been introduced by Republicans to reform birthright citizenship, but have yet to be acted upon.

Also, #10 actually worries me a bit. Personally I can’t see why, but Michelle has a tremendous following. It’s not beyond comprehension that she could be a 2020 candidate. Hopefully by then Trump will have toned down his rhetoric and built up his base a bit more.

  17. freewoman December 30, 2017 at 8:37 pm #

Disappointed to find you supporting the fallacy that “several major news networks, and print media” “cannot accept the fact that Hillary lost”. Rubbish. It’s rather that Americans are exercising their Constitutional right to express themselves about our current president and little or nothing to do with “Hillary”.

“Yesterday, in an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Reince Priebus, President Trump’s Chief of Staff, said that the administration is considering pushing to change the First Amendment to make it easier for the White House to sue media organizations, and that the media needs “to be more responsible with how they report the news.” Apparently not satisfied with using the President’s Twitter feed to attack the media, the White House is continuing the most sustained attack on the media by an administration in decades. The issue isn’t libel – it’s whether we can criticize our government and important political leaders without fear of crushing legal liability. The issue, in other words, is American democracy.”

And now our current president is taking the position of lecturing Iran
“Iranian govt should respect their people’s rights, including right to express themselves. The world is watching!”

Yes, the world is certainly watching the dilemma which we Americans find now ourselves in.

Re #8. While we might possibly be able to make it through the first part of 2018 with the very positive economic forecast which you predict, it will not last. At that point in time the average American will have come to realize that the “HUGE” tax breaks that they had been promised were doing little or nothing to ease their financial situation on a daily basis. Have you recently visited your local supermarket and noted the current exorbitant prices of the fresh fruit and vegetables (ignoring the organically produced ones – which are even more expensive)?

“The president and his senior team have kept saying that the tax plan would unleash business investment in the United States — new factories, more equipment and more jobs.”

Hopefully it is not going to be too long for average Americans to grasp the fact that corporate America, who received a tax cut from 35 to 21% has no plans whatsoever to invest in more equipment and more jobs

“executives themselves have indicated they probably won’t use extra profits to invest.”

Best wishes to all readers for a happy 2018.

    Predictions for 2018

    1. Mueller will seek indictments against Trump, family(Don Jr., Jared and Ivanka) and associates for charges ranging from lying to federal officials and lying on official documents to money laundering, tax evasion, charity fraud, financial fraud, violations of federal and state election and computer laws, conspiracy and maybe RICO charges.

    2. Felix Sater will become a key cooperating witness.

    3. Jail time for some who don’t cooperate and even some who do.

    4. Bankruptcies and divorces as legal costs skyrocket.

    5. A Constitutional crisis as Pence is dragged into this mess.

    6. Significant gains for the Dems in the mid-terms.

    7. Continued effects of climate change. More highs and fewer lows. More rain, more drought, more forest fires, more earthquakes.

    8. More pollution as the government abandons regulations.

    9. Trump acting out more and more as the noose tightens and his grip on reality fades. Expect more Fox and Friends quotes. 100% increasing chance of Twitterstorms.

    10. More Russian interference in our elections via hacking and social media platforms.

    11. The Obama recovery will continue through 2018.

Yes, these are all possible as you’ve listed, Marshall. I have another prediction (?on the brighter side?) – With the 40th anniversary of the movie “Grease,” we may be inundated with “Grease” marketing campaigns; everything from high -tech video games to Sandy & Danny dolls…. lol…

I agree with your predictions with the exception of #10. I don’t think Michelle Obama has any chance of running. I believe President Trump, and a non politician, is in the White House because of the disastrous and inept ‘rein’ of Barack. In fact, the American people are fed up with politicians of both parties, especially the Democrats. I don’t hold much respect for the current Democrat Party, but I don’t think they would be foolish enough to run Michelle.

  28. Helen Frigo January 2, 2018 at 10:14 am #

RE: Robert Schoales, who could have predicted Communist China would be offering tax incentives to American businesses? How many Americans died because Republicans mostly? were so afraid of the “Yellow Horde”? Even President Eisenhower believed the “Domino Theory”, which made tiny Laos like the first domino. So we dropped more bombs on them, and Vietnam & Cambodia than we had dropped on Europe and Japan, to prevent Communist China from taking them over? And General MacArthur was hailed as a hero for invading China? President Trump is 70 years old, and has had a great life. You want him to send MORE Americans to die, or be horribly maimed, in Korea, again? Look up all the nukes right here on our own land that have already killed or injured Americans, or that threaten huge numbers of us. You haven’t seen the earth from space yet, and noticed that we are all together on this beautiful planet?

    • Robert Schoales January 3, 2018 at 8:49 am #

No I don’t want him to do anything like that. He is in the process of destroying our system of government, promoting greed, self-dealing (remember the Corker Kickback, it wasn’t the only one), pollution and willful scientific ignorance. This is inexcusable.

  29. Helen Frigo January 3, 2018 at 12:34 pm #

President Obama had the most death threats. As for Trump. VP Pence is his insurance ticket. The only thing that Trump is endanger is a golf ball hitting him. As for Flynn like Petreous will get off. Years in the military and Flynn sells out asap. The man should be in prison, as well as that AZ sheriff. As for the wall now with directional boring machines with increasing diameters and GPS they can pinpoint where they want .The wall will a waste on money as is all our military spending. Any war against North Korea will end up like the first and Vietnam LOSING. The last war our military won was WWII. despite all our spending. China is not affraid of the paper tiger and will step in again. North Korea is not making the same mistake Iraq did. We bully the weak like Cuba, Iran ,but not Russia and China . If Trump keeps bullying North Korea, they should offer Iran the bomb and missles in exchange for oil. Killing a leader of a country is against our own laws. We’ve become exceptional in our own minds.
