PREDICTIONS 2017

Here are my predictions for 2017

  1. An attempt will likely be made to assassinate President Donald J. Trump

I say this with great angst and sadness, but considering the hostile climate that has been instilled into a huge portion of the population, it’s plausible that some nutball will come from nowhere to have that moment in the limelight.  The masses of congressional representatives and the open animosity emanating from famous celebrities will serve to stoke the fires of hatred.  It only takes one. It’s also plausible that the attempt would come from an international source, i.e. ISIS.

  1. Michelle Obama to run for the White House in 2020.

The left wing political field will begin grooming Michelle Obama for a presidential run in 2020. This will be aided by all-powerful media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times and the Washington Post, who will continually portray her in a glowing light while suppressing any and all negative connotations.  While they will brainwash us all that she is so well qualified to be a president, the true motive would be to re-install Barack Obama back into the seat of power.

  1. Domestic disturbances will abound in opposition to stricter immigration policies.

As we have seen in the last several years, many of our street protesters are not really protesters at all, but hired operatives on a payroll to create anarchy in America. The clampdown of widespread illegal immigration, from overstayed visas and from border crossings, as well as going forward with building a barrier from Mexico, will serve as a motive for upheavals.

  1. The Hillary scandals stay alive.

President Trump will appoint a special prosecutor to probe and complete the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s foundation, thereby removing it from the hands of the Justice Department and the president and into the purview of a Federal Grand Jury. The e-mail scandal will not be an issue.

  1. North Korea will flex its muscles

Look for tests fired from North Korea to make a defiant statement to the new American president that they are not far from owning a nuclear capability.

  1. Iran will violate the terms of the nuclear deal.

Inspectors will be held at bay or prevented from conducting reviews of nuclear storage facilities, which will present a challenge to the Trump administration who will feel it necessary to show determination and strength. The “Deal” will be in jeopardy.

  1. War with Israel

Armed by Iran and other hostile bases of Middle-East power, Israel will come under warlike attacks from Hamas, Hezbollah and the Palestinian sectors. Emboldened by the recent United Nations Security Council decision in which the U.S. sided with Palestinians by refusing to veto the sanctions, anti-Israel sentiment will peak in 2017.

  1. Donald Trump’s approval rating will soar.

Improvements in illegal immigration, economy and the jobs situation, plus a strong stance on international issues, will cause Trump’s approval rating to climb from 35% to 55%…or thereabouts

  1. Oscar winners: (Not necessarily my favorites, but likely winners)

            Best movie:    “Hidden Figures”

Best Director:  Damien Chazelle (La La Land)

            Best Actor:      Denzel Washington (Fences)

            Best Supporting Actor:  (No prediction)

            Best Actress:    Amy Adams (Arrival)

Best supporting Actress: Viola Davis (Fences)

  1. Nobel Peace Prize winner:

             Angela Merkel, Chancellor, Germany

(I would disagree with Merkel winning this award, but knowing the past history of Peace Prize winners, it would appear very probable.)

I agree with the first two. I do wonder when and where the assination attempt will take place.

Michelle running for president will really be interesting and depending on Trump’s success, she might win.

I wonder why a TV series called, ‘Designated Survivor ‘ popped up this year about a president who is killed and someone else is appointed to run the country. Does anyone find the timing to be weird?

  2. Art January 19, 2017 at 3:23 pm #

Apparently CNN already speculated on item #1 including timing that would leave an Obama official in charge. Last night with Wolf Blitzer
On #2 I don’t believe there is any law prohibiting an ex president from being a new Vice President and that is scary!

  3. Chris January 19, 2017 at 3:28 pm #

Marshall I hope you are wrong on most

  4. Jimmie January 19, 2017 at 3:41 pm #

    Hmmmmmm

  5. Charlie January 19, 2017 at 3:44 pm #

Michelle Obama for president ? Oh my God !

  6. Eileen Dykeman January 19, 2017 at 3:56 pm #

I see possibilities in all but #’s 2 & 8. While Mrs. Obama likely enjoyed her White House status, I think she was also quite frustrated with the negative aspects of being in the limelight. As for Trump’s approval rate raising, the influence of too many negative groups will not allow his ratings to go up much, if at all, regardless of how much better off the USA becomes as a result of his presidency.

    • millicent gustafson January 19, 2017 at 5:29 pm #

We can only hope and pray Eileen Dykeman’s hope that the USA will become better off as a result of his presidency.
I believe Michelle Obama would be a good president. But I think she is too smart to want to run.
If only Colin Powell ran and won the presidency. I believe he would have been a great president.
Just pray for our beloved country.

I am an elderly white woman whose roots go back to the American Revolution just in case you wonder.

Wow…..have to ask….how’s your track record?

  8. Lee Boyland January 19, 2017 at 4:16 pm #

Marshall, My comments on your excellent projections.

    1. Afraid you are correct.

    2. That will end the Democrat Party.

    3. Insurrectionists will attempt to take down the Trump government. That is why I carry. We could see a mini-revolt.

    4. Agree. Hillary’s actions after the elections leave him no choice. The Libs threw down the glove.

    5. Right out of my RINGS OF ALLAH. China goads NK into attacking new US President to take his measure.

    6. Iran has never stopped violating the deal. Trump has pledged to act.

    7. Agree. They will do so at Islamic, Russian, and Chinese bidding to take the measure of Trump.

    8. Agree.

    9. No comment.

  9. millicent January 19, 2017 at 5:17 pm #

Let us just hope and pray our wonderful country will survive the next four years.

  10. Don G. January 19, 2017 at 5:25 pm #

I remember when many people predicted Obama would be assassinated. Almost anyone can kill a president if they are willing to die in the effort. The will to survive is what keeps most people from trying it. I doubt the odds are any worse for Trump than they were for Obama.

  11. Mike Carr January 19, 2017 at 5:28 pm #

Michelle NObama?? PUUULLEEEZZZEE. She doesn’t qualify for anything. Oh wait, she did an outstanding job of touring the world on taxpayers $$$$, so tour guide would fit her resume. Marshall, of all your predictions I will pray you are 100% wrong on this one.

    • millicent gustafson January 19, 2017 at 5:32 pm #

all our presidents and families toured the world at taxpayers expense.

      • Mike Carr January 20, 2017 at 10:08 am #

Only not nearly as extensively as Mrs NObama.

        • Roger L. Cox January 21, 2017 at 5:36 am #

Her record won’t be broken for a long time. Total extravagance.
600 to Spain? Flights for the dog? 2 planes to HI?

  12. Pat Pesce January 19, 2017 at 5:48 pm #

The likelihood Michelle would be a candidate is as likely that Netanyahu will be her running mate.

  13. Former Airman January 19, 2017 at 6:01 pm #

Re: Michelle O. I tried to read her senior thesis. Couldn’t finish it. I couldn’t have graduated eighth grade with English that bad.
Here’s a prediction you missed: China will devalue the Yuan against the US Dollar and will do it all at once, massively (25-35 percent.) This solves their problems and will send the rest of the world’s stock markets into deep recession.
The Democrats ruined Herbert Hoover via the media for things he didn’t do. They’ll do it to Donald Trump too if they can.

  14. Edward A. Hensley January 20, 2017 at 12:44 am #

A few of those had to be in jest Marshall, to offset the Probability
that No. 1, is correct. Sadly, your No. 1 is not only correct but it
is incomplete. An attempt to kill or kidnap one of Trump!s many
family members is also a probability. And yes there are bastards
evil enough or snowflake crazy enough to go after his youngest
son. A 30 year distinguished police career taught you that.

No. 2: MOO 4 POTUS in 2020? Surely you jest! Let’s see what’s
left of the Democratic Party after 2018 Senate/House Elections.
I predict a 2018 Bloodbath for Senate Democrats. We shall see.
But here’s the KICKER; The 2020 Dem. Nominee for Pres. & VP
will be vetted by a GOP Congress, AG, a hopefully nonpartisan
FBI a far weaker mass media. MSM will still be paying for their
lies and duplicity, while serving as a pro bono PR Firm for the DNC.

No. 3: Slam Dunk Yes & just say wide spread riots. This will test
the backbone of the new GOP Congress, in how well they support
a Law & Order President Trump in cracking heads sooner, rather
than later. For, I give you odds, the Dem’s will scream “IMPECH.”

    • Edward A. Hensley January 20, 2017 at 1:07 am #

      Continued:
No. 4: Special Prosecutor for Clinton Foundation Crimes.
Good Lord Hope so and I agree the email scandal will be
left as water under the bridge. There is more than one
way to skin a cat or a Crooked Political Family.

      5. 6. & 7: Agree

8.:Agree. Best economy in 20 years has already started.
Trump’s Swearing in a few more hours is just the seal!

      9. Oscar winners will gush and awe before the smallest
live crowd and TV viewer audience in 20 years, as pay
back for Hollywood’s borderline legal Treason & Boo
Hoo B.S. against President Trump. Expect about a
10% hit at the movie box office in 2017, as “What
Goes Around Comes Around.” Hopefully, CNN will
take a 20% hit in viewers and ad revenue.

      10. Nobel Peace Prize: Angela Merkel, Chancellor, Germany
Agree she as a real shot at it, by Prize Committee Standards.
BUT, big competition from Moo Obama’s School Lunch Program.

  15. Ron Fischer January 20, 2017 at 2:57 am #

    ADD:

    A. The Democratic Party will begin to dissolve into a failed “Party of Puppets”.

    B. The Trump family will become a public service dynasty.

    C. The American economy will grow quickly and become an international powerhouse.

    D. The U.N. will be re-born into an effective international forum or dissolve entirely.

    E. The U.S. debt will shrink and a balanced budge is in the near future.

    F. The mainstream media will shrink in importance – especially in politics.

    G. There will be a national movement towards conservatism.

    H. Among the turmoil, there will be many, many positive outcomes.

The Wall Street Journal, today, Jan. 20, 2017, page B1, reported: “The S&P 500 has delivered an annualized return including dividends of 16% since Barack Obama’s inauguration. Only Bill Clinton produced higher returns, in data going back to 1928.”

  21. Joe January 23, 2017 at 10:13 am #

Well Marshall, #10 became totally irrelevant since the Oscars started being awarded for P.C., and NOT quality of performance, and #9 lost it’s luster, when BHO was bestowed with the award for doing NOTHING!

#8 has a good chance to become reality IF he uses his “honeymoon period” to actually accomplish some of the things on his agenda, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, IF he stops using his Twitter account on meaningless bullshit, like the slamming the biased report on the size of the inauguration crowd! IF he uses it wisely to by-pass the fake media on matters of importance to the people, I believe his approval ratings will soar.

#’s 7, 6 & 5 are already happening at some levels. I believe that our new SecDef and renewed interest in projecting a strong military will help to prevent those matters from escalating.

#4 It would appear that The Donald has already extended the olive branch to the Clinton’s at the congressional reception. While I loathe her, and her deceitful double-speak, there is nothing to be accomplished with a prosecution. If Trey Gowdy couldn’t get her, I don’t believe anyone can. The deal has been made for them to disappear into the background, and Trump, like Ford, will put the “nightmare” behind us.

    #3 – SSDP!!! (P = policies or protestors)

#2 Strictly dependent on the first 2 years of the new administration, which will dictate the outcome of the mid-term congressional races. If the GOP controlled Congress cannot agree on legislation that moves the country forward economically and corrects the mistakes of the ACA which we know Trump is pushing for, they will LOSE control during the mid-terms, setting the stage for your prediction to hold water.

#1 This prediction has already been set in motion by that goofy idiot from Bay City, MI, Madonna! Her violation of federal law, calling for someone to blow-up the White House, during Saturday’s women’s protest solicited any number of “2017 John Hinckley wannabes” and the USSS will have to be even more vigilant than they have been during the past 8 years.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/21/opinion/sunday/why-2017-may-be-the-best-year-ever.html

Please also remember the strongest military in the world, which also controlled 80% of “Intelligence” spending, failed to prevent almost 3000 Americans being killed on 9/11/2001, including 150 in the Pentagon itself. Donald Rumsfeld was “on duty” and did not even get a plane in the air for almost an hour. Now you want to give them MORE money?
