Free speech in America? Not according to the Muslim Students Association (MSA).

Figure this. In October of 2007, while in the U.S. on a diplomatic mission, the president of Iran was invited to speak at Columbia University and present his views. No jeering. No shouting. No gestures of hate. A world leader, Mahmãud Ahmadinej~ad, has openly supported genocide by declaring his intent to annihilate an entire nation, simply because it is a Jewish state. He refers to Israel as “baby eating Zionist pigs…a disgraceful stain that should be wiped off the map.” In 1979, this same hate monger was instrumental in the capture and imprisonment of 53 Americans from the U.S. embassy in Tehran, ridiculing and holding them hostage for 444 days. Despite all this, the Americans who attended his speech in Columbia University treated him with dignity and respect.

Contrast that to an American scholar who is invited to speak at the University of California, Santa Barbara about the status of world terrorism and Islamic jihad. David Horowitz, author and founder of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, was heckled, shouted down, jeered and cursed throughout his talk by a handful of rebel students. The MSA had written threatening letters to the university leaders threatening disruption if Horowitz came to talk. Degrading cartoons have been published in MSA literature depicting Horowitz much the same as Nazis depicted Jews in the 1930s. Everything possible was done to muzzle this man.

This is not an isolated incident. David Horowitz has been met with the same disruption at the university campus in Irvine, and in Milwaukee, and other college sites around the country. Same old, same old.

Muzzling the freedom of speech by the MSA is pervasive. They do not discriminate. Throughout America, those who come to college campuses to say anything that they construe as negative toward Islam, is met with screams, insults and threats.

The founder of American Congress For Truth, Brigitte Gabriel, is a noted journalist who immigrated to the U.S. from Lebanon in the 1980s. The author of “Because They Hate,” is an articulate, in-demand lecturer about the threat of radical Islamic extremism. In December of 2006, when Ms. Gabriel was scheduled to speak at the University of Michigan, the MSA sent out e-mails to all Muslim students urging “all Muslim brothers and sisters to do what they need to do to disrupt this event.” And try they did.

She’s used to it. No matter where she’s invited to talk, Ms. Gabriel is met with jeering, heckling, and threats, causing her to check into hotels under false names and be escorted by armed police on and off the speaker’s platform.

America…the land of the free. For now.

Walid Shoebat is a former Palestinian terrorist, now converted to Christianity. He gives speeches all over the country warning Americans of the impending threat of radical Islam. It comes from the horses mouth. We should be grateful. In February of 2007, he was giving a speech at the University of California-Davis, when a group of students began jeering and interrupting. It’s routine no matter what campus he is invited to.

Congressman Tom Tancredo was attacked and his speech disrupted at Michigan State University Law School. Daniel Pipes, Harvey Kushman, Wafa Sultan and Steve Emerson are other scholars who are met with the same fate — sometimes violent — from the MSA whenever they speak on campuses about terrorism and Islamic fanaticism. It is all part of the larger pattern of trying to silence and discredit through personal attacks anyone who dares speak up too strongly against the jihad and in defense of Western civilization.

The MSA has emerged as the most powerful student organization on university campuses throughout America. They were founded by the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest and most notorious extremist organization in the world. This is the same organization who, in 1982, issued the edict “The Project” which spells out their strategy for converting America and establishing an Islamic caliphate throughout the western world by the end of the 21st century, part of which includes its supporters posing as “moderates.”

Founded in Egypt in the late 1920s, the Muslim Brotherhood has long used violence as the primary means to its end — strict compliance to Sharia law. The ultra-radical organization lurks behind the scenes of Muslim Student Associations across the nation and should be of concern to every American!

These authors and scholars are national heros, speaking out and exposing the secret agenda of pro-terrorist supporters across the nation. They also provide information on how the Muslim Brotherhood is godfather to al Quaeda and Hamas, while helping to create the MSA and other Muslim student groups as part of its stealth jihad against American institutions

Fear and intimidation works. In a small way, I also experienced the muzzle. When my book Militant Islam In America was first released, I routinely set up book signings at various retail stores. Days later, I was contacted by management cancelling all signings. No reasons given. My book was not put on the shelf of any bookstore. The average American will not find books about radical Islamic jihad by Kushner, Horowitz, Emerson, John Sperry, and many more, on retail bookstore shelves for fear of reprisal from local Muslim groups. On several occasions I was explicitly warned by library management, “Talk about any of your books, but do not talk about Militant Islam. We don’t want any trouble here.”

My personal story is but a microcosm of how much muzzling is going on throughout America. Who does that affect? The American people, that’s who. The less informed we are, the better it is for our enemies. As the threat grows, inch by inch, day by day, very few in the media and in government have the courage to speak up.

Can anyone think of one time — in the last twelve months — where the spread of radical Islamic extremism within the borders of the U.S. was the subject of any presidential debate?

I’m a great believer in tolerance. But, like anything else, there’s a limit.

Meanwhile, let’s keep offering cordial invitations to our enemies to come and spread their propaganda on our college campuses, free from intimidation and fear of reprisal. America was a captive audience to Mr. Ahmadinej~ad who told us all that no homosexuals exist in his native Iran. Riiight. Thanks you sir, for that enlightenment.

It’s coming. No one is listening.

Inch by inch…without limits.

Keep the info coming Marshall, maybe somebody will start paying attention. Oh, maybe it will be Obama, who wants to sit down and have a friendly chat with them. Give me a break, if this guy is elected we might as well turn the country over to them. What is the matter with these people who support him? Obviously, they don’t know any better or are enthralled by his so called eloquence, or BS, which is more appropriate.

When tolerance and political correctness over shadow freedom of speech, we will end up with neither and be like the islamic states.
No-one dares challenge muslim organizationss for fear of reprisal. At one time advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government by force was cause for survelence or arrest. Now it seem to be the right thing to do.

I think it’s time for the re-opening of the internment camps. Put these people and gang members in the same confines.
And oh yes I think the current administration has already sat down with N Korea – you know “The Axis of Evil”. Take a look around Frank

I am wondering if anyone reading this and who posts a comment has any ability to get this out to the popular media. Information like this needs to reach the masses. How can reach the American people? Let’s use our heads and our resources and make a bold move.

This is no more than another spike in the lid of the coffin for America. If Americans do not wake up and get their heads out of their politically correct ass real quick this country will be finished. We need to take action to expel, not intern these people, These are foreign nationals on American soil advocating the overthrow of our government and the fundamental way of life in America. These foreign nationals are being allowed to congregate, form unions and openly advocate attacks on America, and they are doing it openly from podiums in America. Where is our Government and what are they doing about this?…not one single thing! This can not be tolerated in any fashion, and if the US Government can or will not lend protection for its people; it is time the people take it upon themselves to put a stop to this movement.
Americans need to open their eyes. The US Government is forcibly not allowing Americans to act within their right to protest or have freedom of speech but the force the American public to tolerate being abused by foreign nationals on our own soil. The politicians have slowly but surely stripped away or Rights. You let a foreign national speak out and be called down for it and the police stand ready to haul the American away to jail. Tyranny has arrived. It has been brought upon the American public so skillfully under the guise of many reasons, and with such meticulous care that they have accepted it and they do not even realize what has happen.
It is past time for good Americans to take a stand and put an absolute end to these many ridiculous situations.

Let’s round up all the preventers of free speech, tell them we live by the Constitution which guarantees the right of free speech by everyone, and if they don’t abide by our laws, they will immediately be deported. Then follow through. They perceive us as weak because we do not stand up for our own laws in our own country. We either stop it now, or they will stop us. How do you want to live? Les

Perhaps we should start by discredting and eliminating the Liberal Rights Advocacy Group of people who think everything is okay as long as it is anti-what the rest of us believe.
Second, while it was an awful thing when we placed the Japan people in camps perhaps we should now rethink that situation…..unfortunatly a few good will be hurt along with the bad but that is better than a nation being devoured by Islam.

Great work! It is not “radical Islam” It is Islam. Islam is to submit. If you study Islam and the Hadiths, they are doing what Muhammad commands. This is why there is no reformation in Islam. They believe it to be the actual words of Allah.
I posted this on my blog-
I am concerned about the selling of American for greed and petrodollars.

your right it’s coming, and just like 1939 no will do anything until it’s to late.

Marshall, yo’re right on point once again. Our leaders (??) have always catered to the mouthy dissenters. What most people fail to realize is that the radical Muslims intend to destroy that right to dissent!! It’s ironic how freedom of speech only applies to the radicals (95% left leaning) and only caucasians can be racist!!

Santayana said “Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it,” The SA and the Brown Shirts got started in ’20’s Germany much like the MSA in your report. They jeered at public assemblies when they (and Adolf) disagreed with the speaker. They were bullies fueled by beer and frustration. When they weren’t stopped by the much greater force of the Weimar Republic and the Polizei (many were sympathizers and Jew baiters in sanctioned uniforms who carried Lugers), they progressed quickly.

Hitler became chancellor, “communists” burned the Reichstag, The SA (later SS)oversaw the book burnings, they exhibited the “decadent” art and Goering and others stole a great deal for their own collections, the abomination of Kristalnacht in 1938, and on and on until VE Day They lusted for a “Judenfrei welt”, and they almost had their way.

We all can paraphrase Edmund Burke’s “all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”. Will we never learn? Will we continue to make nice to our “guests” who only want to establish a 14th century caliphate in place of our wonderful land of freedom, the “golden land” of my immigrant grandparents, hardly one century ago.

Keep on teaching, Marshall. You write and we will read (and think, I hope).

The Muslim kids are out there fighting to destroy freedom. Where are the American kids battling back to retain it? They’re inside watching some “realistic” TV show. Why do the universities provide special places for Muslim students to practice their rituals? Because they want “diversity” in the student body and large donations of money.I’m a Columbia alum and I protested to the President’s office when I heard he was giving Ahmadinejad a platform. It was stupid PR … attracting negative attention but he did get attention! The students did boo Ahmadinejad and President Bollinger in opening remarks was very rude to him. We cannot cancel free speech in America because we don’t want to hear Muslims. That way they would win hands down. When Muslim radicals shout down speakers, American voices have to drown them out. Our resident middle east expert, Rosemayre Levine, says Muslims multiply so intensively they will beat us at the ballot box.How do we stop that?Change the law that makes every child born here a U.S. citizen automatically? Not allow any more Muslims to immigrate?Deny them citizenship? The problem needs figuring out not kneejerk anger.

What happened to the statement that was in or laws at the beginning of our country’s government that said that threatening or advocating the overthrow of our government was deserving of prison or exile? One man (whose name I forgot) in the late 1700’s became well-remembered later as “The man without a country”. He was banished from this country and I think not accepted for citizenship elsewhere. That is not simply “freedom of speech”. It should be considered a crime! Those who come here and abuse their right to free speech to speak out against our government should be deported.

I do not believe in repeating our mistake made with the Japanes-American citizens, some of whom, it was proven later when we woke up, proved to be some of the best fighters in our military. There have for years been Muslims in this country, Muhammed Ali one of the most famous, who quietly practice their religion daily. I know a few of them.

Freedom of thought in religion, voting, and respectfully expressing what we believe in any matter (I don’t want this country run by ANY religious group)are a far cry from threatening to overthrow our government, and should be recognized as such.

Marshall, Your subject matter is the extreme end of the problem which is not suprising seeing how we don’t demand that other cultures that come from other countries (communist or not) assimilate into our English speaking culture like so many have done in the past. But now each new group (last 30 years or so)demands there own language, street names in towns, business section, radio programs ,magazines and anything else that not only maintains and honors their recent countries culture and mores, but strives to make it dominant. American culture has to take a back seat or it’s not RIGHT. Dosn’t matter if it’s California or Florida, if a newly arrived group doesn’t get their way or people speak up about and complain then there labled anti-whatever and shouted down. We become weak and timid and hope it will change. The day President Bush called The Minutemen a bunch of vigilantes I knew we were screwed, no matter what party is in office. The media really fed the vigilante image by only interviewing those that sounded like less than literate, or focusing on their mistakes. These were strong men who did more than talk about it, they walked the walk and were treated like misfits. If we can’t even stand up for our own language and traditions without worrying about upsetting the newest culture arriving for their free handout, what chance do we stand against Islamic terrorist who will threaten you and your family if you complain about a Mosque in any small town in America.
Like one writer said if I start making extreme threats to the U.S. government or threating a revolution my own country will be on me like flies on a rib roast, but not someone else from another country. To say we are a “sleeping giant” like Admiral Yamamoto stated after Pearl Harbor is merely a hope and wish. A wish that when we have finally reached the point where would stand up and say “enough”, I don’t give a damn if you like it or not, say one more threat towards America on American soil and your out of here. Do affirmations about America like “land of the brave” or “don’t tread on me” mean anything, or do we have to really suffer for those things to rise up in us. I pray were still a sleeping giant. Thank you for doing battle in your own way Marshall. Dave Tipps
